Who should create light to escape the darkness they are in?



Do we all want to live in a dark room all the time? No. None of us want to. We all try and want to live in an environment that is full of light and beauty. Why? Because we all need to look around and be happy and have various relationships with each other. But can our parents or friends or neighbors create that environment for us? No. We must first create it with courage and enjoy it with kindness. And that enjoyment must be genuine enjoyment. Otherwise, no matter how much effort and beauty an environment is built with, it will not take long for it to be created again as a dark place. It is a dharma that does not change at any moment in the world. That is why it will be necessary to put in a lot of effort to create a well-lit environment without being genuine. That is why we must act with a mind guided by wisdom.


We know that there are blind, mute, deaf and mentally retarded people in the human world by birth. And we have seen it. We must have associated with such people. But even if we look at the behavior patterns or appearance of those people and feel funny or worried, do we ask ourselves what kind of evil has been done to make this happen to him? No, right? But is that what we should do in such a situation?


The fundamental reason for acquiring a deformed physical body with a blind, mute, deaf or mentally retarded condition by birth is an evil karma that he did in a previous life. Such a birth occurred due to the good fruit of that evil karma. But there are people who are able to understand it at the moment of birth. There are also those who are unable. Only those who are blind, mute, and deaf, who can understand this, can understand this. If such a situation arises due to the good deeds they have done in their previous lives, if I do more such bad deeds, I will have to suffer more and suffer more. Therefore, there are those who are motivated to inquire with wisdom about what should I do according to religion and dharma? What should I do and what should I not do. And they also succeed in that work. Nature will also provide good help for that. But there are also those who are born in a state where they are unable to inquire about it properly and do not do so. That is because of the most serious bad deeds they have done.


Does happiness come to us just because we think we want to live a happy life? No. Why is that? We must have created the activities that are fundamental to experiencing the happiness we want. Let's look at this as a basic example. If we want to go on a pilgrimage, we must first prepare everything we need for the journey, including clothes, medicine, food, and drink. Without preparing in this way, will we be able to go on that journey? It is impossible, right? If we sit aside and do not complete all the related activities at any time, none of the goals we think of will be achieved. We all know very well why we were given life. But no matter how much we know, there are also people who act in a way that does not know it and live their lives, only suffering. Why? Because they know very well that a mistake is a mistake and engage in that mistake again and again.


We know that not everyone who lives among us is poor or rich. We also know that all of them live right lives and wrong lives. If a person who was poor and was in a state of poverty, after asking about those hundreds of people, suddenly finds a great wealth, his mental process will be completely different. He will not be able to understand what he should do and what he should not do, and he will automatically become a crazy person. None of us will be tempted to act in ways that we have never thought of. Also, will everything that we have received or something we had be destroyed in a way that we have never expected? Then it will be created in the same way. It has been there since the creation of the universe. But in those moments, we should think about what our life was like before we got this wealth? After carefully examining it, how much suffering did I suffer during the time when I did not have this wealth? Also, how many people are kneeling like a poor person, like a beggar, like a hired worker? How did they reciprocate my help during those times? What kind of inconvenience did I face then? Was it appointed? Was it necessary to be appointed? When I, who was living such a slow life, found myself in such a situation, should I not think about it and put aside the good qualities we possess? No. Should we put aside any of those good qualities, no matter how much wealth we acquire? If we put them aside like that, we will never see peace except destruction in our lives.

We have seen what the lives of those who have a lot of money are like. Many of them try to live in the five vices. As an undesirable result of that effort, they will suffer. But what should be asked at every moment? What are the main needs that we need for our life? Let us examine that. That is,

 Food

 A suitable place to live

 Medicine


We live in these four kinds of needs. Also, all the activities that we do are done with the aim of enjoying these four needs without any deficiency. Also, when we do not get pleasure from those pleasures and go further than we expect, a feeling of dissatisfaction will arise in his mind. As an undesirable result of that, he tries to behave immorally. How is that?


Who has a lot of money? He will then behave in a wrong way and then, to get rid of the humiliation that comes from it, lie and speak empty words, and then, when he cannot bear any of that, when he receives various accusations from his family and society, he will definitely become a madman who uses alcohol and drugs, thinking that he should get rid of it and live in his own world. Why? Because the unsatisfied states of his desires went to a higher state than his own, he could not bear it and engaged in wrong activities as an improper result of the improper activities he had done. That is why he had to suffer in that way. It is a system of rules and regulations that has been well-made by nature for those who do wrong. It has not been made by anyone else. That is why every person should try to live his life well by reflecting on the situation he was in at the beginning and the contradictory situations that he will face after that. Otherwise, we will all have to live our lives in a difficult way. No matter how much wealth we have, we should know that it is in accordance with the creation of our own thoughts. That is well stated by the Buddha when he preached the rebirth of beings. We will all be subject to various sufferings and troubles during the period of our lives. We know that very well. And it was also preached by the Buddha. Let us examine what is the basis for that. 

Many people, after suffering various sufferings and troubles, immediately declare that this is our karma. That is the true truth. Also, the Buddha preached that after we get a disease, to cure that disease, we must first prevent it from spreading and then cure the person who has the disease. That is why Buddhism also advises us to be careful about it while performing karma rather than worrying about the consequences of karma and looking for remedies. Through it, we can solve many problems that we may experience. There are also cases where we can prevent the fruits of our actions. The Buddha has described four cases where wholesome or unwholesome actions can be prevented.


Conditional and Conditional Detrimental: If a certain action is to bear fruit, but a suitable birth does not occur for it, it does not bear fruit. That is the conditional detrimental. If a suitable birth occurs for it, that is the conditional detrimental.


Time-based Detrimental and Time-based Detrimental: Even if one is given alms, if one is born in a time of famine, one cannot reap the good fruits of it. That is the conditional detrimental. But if one is born in a suitable time or self-sufficient, then one can reap the good fruits of it. That is the conditional detrimental.


Birth-based Detrimental and Birth-based Detrimental: Although one has the merit of being a polymath, if one is born deaf, one cannot reap the good fruits of it because of the conditional detrimental. But according to that, if one is born with good physical wealth, that is the wealth of birth.


Payoga wealth and Payoga vipatthi: If one obtains the fruits and consequences of karmas in a bad way through one's own efforts, that is Payoga vipatthi. If one obtains the fruits in a good way, that is Payoga vipatthi.


For example, one can examine the case of the great Arahant Angulimala.


In his early days, he killed hundreds of thousands of people, but later, after realizing the seriousness of the sins he had committed, he acted in accordance with the teachings of the Buddha. That is why he was saved from the suffering that he would have suffered for a long time in hell and lived happily. That is Payoga wealth. It is also described in this way.

If a person's previous sin is covered with a good deed, he will shine in the world like a moon covered with clouds. That fact was made clear by the great Arahant Angulimala. Similarly, Devadatta Thera committed the Payoga Vipathi. He used various tricks to kill the Buddha with the intention of attaining the enlightenment that the Buddha had realized. By acting in this way, he created a foundation for himself to go to hell and suffer various sufferings. That is a good example of the Payoga Vipathi. When examined in this way, it is clearly evident that not only today but also in the days of the Buddha, there were those who darkened their entire souls by doing things that they should not do, even though they had things to do. Similarly, they darkened their entire lives. Should we, who are well aware of such facts, also find ourselves in such a situation? If there is a suitable path, if our eyes are able to see the path, then this is the right time to ask ourselves with wisdom what we are doing. If not, there will be nothing but destruction in your life, and you will not find any comfort.

We should examine these matters with our wisdom and live the river of life in such a way that it is a great light for everyone else and a light for ourselves. For that, we should use our wisdom and mind and carry out our life activities correctly. Otherwise, we cannot conclude that we have gained any benefit from this human life. What can we conclude after examining all these matters carefully? All the happiness and wealth we enjoy are determined in accordance with the actions we have done. Therefore, we should examine them with our wisdom and think with our mind and strive to live our lives successfully. Through this, we have the ability to experience many high opportunities in our lives.


Rather than sitting in the darkness and crying out that darkness is darkness, it would be better if we tried to create a correct path to get rid of that darkness. Then we will be able to enjoy many happiness and wealth in life. Also, no one is able to prevent it.
