One who lives in this world
should thrive to achieve peace at the end of this sansara. Because each living
being would like to lead a peaceful path at the end. However, people who know
Buddhism well would not bey the path to wisdom similar to Buddha era who
followed different paths though the Buddha’s path was clearly unfolded.
More humans find other
malpractices more they endanger themselves in sorrow, instead the precious time can be spent to find their own
weaknesses. A well-educated person who does not discover other weaknesses as he
is aware that it does not gain any profit in return. Anyone from childhood
first attain the progress in their lives by education, and settlement in life
depending on different time frames.
Buddha’s preach is very clear on
how to mould your life from childhood until the death.
Life is like a river which flows
through lot of obstacles without stopping with one aim which is to enrich the
environment throughout. The river can be diverted appropriately to different
locations to fulfil our needs but with wisdom, else it will be in vain. The
similar principle applies to life also the life should not be live just because
you were born it should be lived intelligently and diverted to correct path by
wisdom to become a human who is important to oneself and the others.
One who calls himself/herself as
an educated person he or she should analyse whether he or she has got human
qualities within themselves. Before 2500years according to Buddha’s preach all
tangible items being collected land, house, vehicles etc are temporary, but
dhamma the eternal nibbana is permanent. Even after truth is unfolded in front
of them it had been deaf ears in a society
with monetary foundation. But still, it is something that we need to
analyse whether they really live a happy life in the society. In
‘Alagadhdhupama sutra’ Buddha has compared your ill acts to a serpent once you
touch from wrong end it will bite, but in this society, there are many examples
who already know the consequences of the act but still they do it. The Buddha
who achieved wisdom had also undergone a normal life at young age and understood
the reality of sansara as a lotus which came out from the mud and scents the
whole world Buddha had preached the philosophy of truth not with intention of
gaining anything in return but just to end the sorrowful lives of people. So
why a intelligent human cannot follow the path ? Which has to be answered by
yourself. From small age we need to practice our mind to see what we really comfort
in life as happiness – unreality.
For the understanding of
unrealistic nature of live we need to practice it within the family, then in
school and broadly in the society. When practicing dhamma in society, one may
be perceived positively, while not practicing it may lead to a negative
perception by others.
Within a family in order to
become a good mother and a father just by giving birth to a child or giving
them shelter and food are not enough according to Buddha’s preach there should
be four divine abodes that mother should follow; which are
1. Maithree
(loving Kindness)
2. Karuna
(Compassion )
3. Muditha
(Empathic Joy)
4. Upekka(Equanimity)
In few decades back there were
many mothers who adhered these qualities in families but nowadays maybe handful
are left.
Nowadays feeding their babies with
love and affection have become a challenging task with open economy as mother is
also working. If the economy of the family is satisfactory that mother would
have time to spend with her children.
Nowadays women get into inappropriate marriages in immature
age after leaving schools and tend to study further after marriage. The main
reason for this is they did not fulfil their duty as a child in school but get into inappropriate affairs. It is
important for parents and teachers to reflect on current practices and identify
areas for improvement.
When a baby is in mother’s womb the
baby can feel each action of the parents, how they talk how they love each
other or whether they fight. The primary stage of disciplined would be adhered
to the baby before the birth. If the parents always fight and argue using
inappropriate language the child born in that background will exhibit same sort
of actions in his life. Because of this very fact just because you give birth
to a child you will not qualify as a mother as we plant a tree carefully with
all fertilizers and right amount of water children should be brought up by
parents with four principles metta, muditha, Karuna and Upekka. If not, that
child is going to be a burden to the society who does not value parents, teachers
and elders.
When mother should practice four divine
abodes father on the other hand should fulfil love, security to the family, ideal
modal to children and the society in general. Unless the parents are not in
correct path there cannot be any disciplined children in the society.
It is a question mark whether nowadays
fathers love their children and family , whether they protect their family as
first priority or whether they the real ideal modal for the child to look at ? To
all mothers and fathers just by your mal practices society is corrupted with children
with mal practices. Time to get on hold, rather than blaming elderly care homes.
The child you give birth to is
our responsibility, treat your child with love, kindness and affection and child
will learn to give those in return to you and to the society at large.
Failing to show love to your child can damage their mindset,
especially when they observe the affection other children receive from their
parents in school.
‘ Why can’t my parents love me
the same?’ the child will start the
argument within own mind but would be scared to say it to the parents. If a
mother is very strict with her children or if the family is dealing with issues
related to a father who drinks heavily, children may find it difficult to
express their opinions at home. And yet parents would not be in a situation to
understand their children due to economical, social or sexual conflicts going
on in between parents.
As there are two sides of the
coin there are well disciplined parents who sweat hard to fulfil all the needs
of their children to uplift the status of their children in the society. When
necessary, parents do not hesitate to discipline their children if they make
poor choices. This is driven by their deep love and concern for their
children's well-being, which should be recognized and appreciated by the
children.
