Everything in the world, both living and non-living, operates on eight foundations. It is the Eightfold Dharma or Atalo Dharma. The only teacher who saw the true reality of the world, the Buddha, the Buddha, correctly pointed out the path to follow.
However, where does the current human being, lying in the dark and gloomy veil of delusion and falling into the cruel hands of commercialism, stop on the path.
In a society where humanity, values, culture and morality have been sacrificed for money, it is an extremely difficult task to communicate the message of Dhamma in a cool and virtuous manner. However, in a society that is descending into the abyss day by day, although it is a difficult task, as people who value humanity alone, the time has come for the message of Dhamma to be communicated to the human heart without delay.
It must be admitted without a doubt that the greatest communicator who has ever been born in the world was the Buddha. His communication style is very simple and clear. It is amazing how the terrifying Alavaka and the wild elephant of Nalagiri bowed down before the good words flowing from the lotus mouth of the Buddha. But when we open our eyes to the present, we live in a society where the values of humanity are declining day by day. There are people who do not know how to respect another person and do not know how to speak respectfully. It is a matter of great regret that even the actions and words of a man who has descended into a temporary path of struggle for narrow goals have been able to turn society upside down. In today's man, thoughts such as hatred, hatred, revenge, and anger are increasing day by day. How many people, despite appearing to be human, have not recognized their true humanity? Just as a spark hidden in a fire can ignite a big fire at any moment, so too can small grudges spread far and wide, and people who are ready to take revenge when the opportunity arises, keeping it in their memory. In an era where virtues and virtues are declining, it is the need of the hour to strive to bring the Dharma back to the human heart.
Due to the unstable existence of wealth, position, and power that degrades man, is it so tragic that meaningful words have disappeared from human lips and instead, harsh words and actions have emerged that destroy life, society, and the country?
Instead of cursing each other with harsh words, today's man has become incapable of fulfilling his personal responsibilities and duties. This has formed the basic foundation for many major problems facing society. The Buddha preached the noble Dhamma as the best medicine to heal burning hearts.
Monks, there is no medicine like the Dhamma. Drink it, the Buddha preached. Similarly, it is well stated in the Vasala Sutta that a person does not become a Brahmin or a Vasala by birth, but by his conduct.
The Buddha pointed out that man commits ten types of wrongdoings through the three doors of mind, body, and speech. Meanwhile, it is well stated in the Buddha's sermon that the destruction caused by the misuse of words is not insignificant. Lying, slander, harsh words, and empty words are all wrongdoings committed by man through his mouth.
The Buddha taught that a person who deceives society by lying, a person who achieves destruction by gossiping, and a person who uses harsh and empty words to oppress others will never progress towards goodness.
In this light, a person who is free from the ten kinds of sins committed by us in the three doors of mind, body, and speech and who engages in the ten virtues will undoubtedly be a well-educated and civilised person in society. Let us strive to constantly improve the words that come out of our mouths. That will be a good support for the good society that we pray for tomorrow.
